Christina Kuiken is the Program Coordinator for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and the STEM Leaders research program at Oregon State. She is passionate about serving historically underrepresented students who are seeking academic and social support structures while building community on and off campus. Christina’s own scholarship focuses on perceptions of mattering and identity for Black male athletes in revenue-producing college athletics, and her continuing education is focused on reducing barriers for BIPOC students within predominantly White institutions. When she is not working, Christina enjoys hiking with her dog, watching sports, weightlifting, and is an avid reader, particularly of fantasy and sci-fi.

Lila Medina is the graduate assistant for the STEM Leaders program. She comes to Oregon State University after graduating from the University of California, Merced—with two years of experience as a student employee in Residence Education. Lila is very passionate about supporting student populations, and ensuring they gain access to valuable experiences in university. Some of Lila’s hobbies include walking, poetry, and spending time with her cat—Panchito.

Steve Wuhs is Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. He is committed to connecting Oregon State students to engaged learning opportunities like URSA Engage and STEM Leaders, recognizing that they are critical to undergraduate student success. Over his career, he has worked to make curriculum accessible to students, to enhance global learning, and to minimize achievement gaps among students, particularly for DACA students and Latinx students. During his first year at OSU, Dr. Wuhs will participate in La Academia de Liderazgo, a leadership academy run by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities. By training, he is a scholar and teacher of Mexican and Latin American Politics. When he isn’t working, he might be hiking with his family, running outside, or walking his dog, Shadow.
