Christina Kuiken is the Program Coordinator for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and the STEM Leaders research program at Oregon State. She is passionate about serving historically underrepresented students who are seeking academic and social support structures while building community on and off campus. Christina’s own scholarship focuses on perceptions of mattering and identity for Black male athletes in revenue-producing college athletics, and her continuing education is focused on reducing barriers for BIPOC students within predominantly White institutions. When she is not working, Christina enjoys hiking with her dog, watching sports, weightlifting, and is an avid reader, particularly of fantasy and sci-fi.
