Fall Term

• Attend the STEM Leaders Research Ready course throughout the term
• Meet weekly with your peer mentor (1 hour)
• Attend three scheduled workshops
• Look for research groups you'd be interested in joining
• Choose five faculty members whose research interests align with your own

Winter Term

• Begin conducting undergraduate research (5 hrs/wk)
  • Note-taking in a Research Group
• Meet with your peer mentor every other week (1 hour)
• Attend three scheduled workshops
  • Getting the Most From Undergraduate Research
• Begin thinking about your plans for summer break
  • Some applications for programs can be due as early as fall term!

Spring Term

• Continue conducting weekly research (5 hrs/wk)
• Meet with your peer mentor four times throughout the term (1 hour)
• Attend three scheduled workshops
  • How to Make a Lightning Talk
• Consider which event you plan to present your research at
  • CUE takes place in mid-May with a registration deadline in April
  • SURS takes place in mid-September with a registration deadline in mid-August
• Speak with your research mentor about whether you would like to continue working in their research group
  • Leaving a Research Group
