Major: Electrical Engineering

Peer Mentor: Jessica Steigerwald

Faculty Mentor:  Dr. Don Heer

I was born in Los Angeles, California, but have lived all my life in Portland. Growing up I would often travel with my family to LA and my parent’s home village in rural Mexico to spend time with my extended family. During many of the weeks spent in the tiny town we would often lose power, such a contrast from big cities. It sparked my interest in electrical engineering. I chose to attend OSU because it was close enough to home, and is a research University with a great College of Engineering. For my undergraduate research, I want to work with materials and devices. After I graduate I hope to be able to obtain a job at Intel and work on new emerging technology for some time then return to school for my master’s. Different program coordinators that support students in STEM fields have by far been one most influential factors in making my transition to Oregon State great!
